About
The Hand Behind the Canvas
Portrait
“Painting is the architecture of stillness.”
For Phượng, art has no boundaries. It flows from the marks made on canvas — through oil, watercolour, and charcoal — into the spaces we inhabit and the quiet moments of everyday life. Painting is her primary language: a way of recording a feeling before it fades.
She works in oil on canvas and watercolour on cotton paper, drawn to the raw directness of oil and the luminous transparency of watercolour. Each series grows from close observation — a quality of light, the geometry hidden in familiar rooms, a suspended moment before something changes.

Artist Statement
“I am not painting subjects — I am painting time. Each layer holds a breath, a hesitation, a revision. What I hope a viewer finds in front of a finished piece is not a picture, but the stillness I was reaching for when I made it.”
